Guus Hiddink will meet with the new president...

"Hiddink was planning to fly to Moscow today and meet with the new president of the Russian Football Union later this week," RFU general director Alexei Sorokin told RIA Novosti.

He also said Hiddink would discuss his plans for the future, adding that it was not yet clear if the 63-year-old Dutch trainer had decided to continue working with the Russian national team.

Former Zenit St. Petersburg president Sergei Fursenko is the clear favorite to take over as head of the RFU. Russian media reports suggest that Fursenko is unwilling to continue paying Hiddink wages in excess of $5 million a year, especially in light of Hiddink"s failure to guide Russia to the 2010 World Cup.

Hiddink has been linked with a number of clubs, including Liverpool and Juventus, since Russia"s catastrophic play-off loss to tiny Slovenia, but has said he will wait until the RFU elects a new head before deciding on his future. Despite his failure to get Russia through the qualifiers, Hiddink
