Moscow is undaunted by Poland"s decision...

Poland said on Wednesday it will deploy a battery of U.S. Patriot missiles to the town of Morag, just 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the border with the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, rather than outside Warsaw.

"That is an issue of U.S.-Polish bilateral relations, an issue of bilateral cooperation between NATO allies," the Russian foreign minister said. "We are interested in developing relations both with Poland and with NATO on the basis of trust and mutual interests."

"Perhaps there are some reasons why these batteries will be deployed where they will be. The question is why something has to be done that creates the impression that Poland is strengthening against Russia. That is something I don"t understand."

"We are expecting clarification on that and then we will review the situation," Lavrov said.
